Willows Welcome Spring

The Ohio State University’s Chadwick Arboretum houses an extensive collection of willow shrubs, which bring color and beauty to Ohio’s sparse winter landscape.

It’s a snowy morning at Chadwick Arboretum at The Ohio State University’s main campus in Columbus, but that doesn’t keep pussy willow shrubs from releasing their trademark fuzzy catkins along leafless branches. The arboretum’s visitors enjoy these early blooms as they tour its impressive willow collection and leave tempted to add these harbingers of spring to their own back yards.
